How Twitter replaced my newspaper subscription.

How Twitter replaced my newspaper subscription.

I have always been an information junkie.  I started reading the paper in my early teens on  a daily basis, cover to cover.  As I got older I subscribed to four newspapers and read most or all of them everyday.  When my wife and I had our first child five years ago I narrowed it down to two papers due to obvious time constraints.  When we had our second child three years ago I was down to one paper.  When I joined Twitter about a year ago I started following journalists, newspapers, sportswriters, blogger’s, tech sites, etc..you get the picture.  I then started realizing I was reading tommorow’s news today. Instantaneous information, I was an addict. I would look at Twitter on my iPhone right after I woke up, when I used to go get the newspaper right after I woke up.   I noticed the newspapers were piling up in my driveway like I was on vacation.  I did not want to cancel my newspaper subscription for tradition sake.  But about three months ago I did just that, I cancelled that sucker.  We all know that there have been several newspapers that have gone out of business in the last few years.  That is my personal story of one of the ways it is happening.  Thanks for reading.  Thanks for sharing. -DL
